The central cashbox of MSA and its horse riding department work with the union of the breeders on the matter of professional illness of the sulky drivers.
The central cashbox of MSA wishes that a linked study on the lombagos and their origines is done with the INRS (National Institute for Safety Research) and an ergonomy practise to identify the potential sources of the driver’s illnesses.
A call for tender is launched, we are chosen in 2003. The work will be done in two stages 2003-2004 and 2004-2005.

The first stage (2003-2004) of the study allowed us to observe and analyse the functionning of the several training centers chosen by the professionals of the field. The feedbacks of the analysis included elements concerning the sulky and its utilisation, and especially elements linked to the working of the stableboys and the trainers about health and their way to approach the horses.
In parallel to those observations on the activity of stableboys and training divers, the INRS has made a research on a sulky built to identify vibratory phases eventually harmful, as well as evolution leads.
The second stage allowed to get into the same observations deeper during another season and to see the impact on the training and the various activities.

The two stages of observation took place in two years in training centers. They mixed different seasons (climate impact, fields nature, training and racing periods...), different farms sizes, as well as various sizes of training centers.
The study ended at the beginning of 2006. The results are available through the Horse Riding section of the central cashbox of the MSA.
